This is a wonderful book for any woman pregnant for the first time - with firsthand experiences I can relate to, and scientific data that I might not otherwise seek out. I'm really enjoying reading about each month as I approach it.

the best book on development of the fetus

Sandra Steingraber is a scientist and writer whose early cancer has led her to explore the possible environmental causes of cancer and teratogens in our chemically laced environment. In this book, she talks about her own pregnancy and what happens to the developing life within in a very thorough, and beautiful, way.

Great Mix of Science and Love

This book starts out as very scientific and a bit dull, but picks up and keeps you reading. I admire the author for doing so much detailed research and yet being very happy and optimistic towards her own childbearing. An inspirational and eye-opening book that I would recommend to all my friends, especially young women.

Important book for ALL consumers as well as future parents

This book is FASCINATING. If you pick it up you won't put it down. Everyone should read this book, but especially those considering having children. (I do not recommend this book to pregnant women, it could be very upsetting)

The book is beautifully written, personal, scientific, and life changing. I particularly appreciate the author's perspective that the onis to protect children from toxic chemicals that cause birth defects should be societal, not personal. It is insane that we have accepted that due to mercury pollution as a result of coal burning women and children should have to stop eating nutritious fish.

An uncommon telling of a common story

Review Date: 2007-12-18
I loved this story, both as a scientific narrative and a touching personal story. I'm thinking about pregnancy, and this book awakened me to many of the dangers of toxins in the environment I hadn't even contemplated before. I'm so glad that Steingraber told the full story of fish in the diets of pregnant women, for example: that a food with such healthy fats and potential for fetal brain development has instead been rendered toxic by not just mercury pollution, but POPs like DDT as well. And anyone who wants to breastfeed should be aware of how toxins are magnified not just over the course of fetal development, but within the content of mother's milk as well. Steingraber seeks to educate us not to make us take action indiviually, but collectively: healthy food and a healthy environment should be the right of every pregnant woman, mother, father and child. It should be ours for the taking, because we adults deserve the right to have children, and those children deserve the healthiest world possible, starting in the microcosm of the womb. As an adopted child, a pregnant woman, a nursing mother and a biologist, Steingraber tells every woman's story of conception and birth to inspire all humans with a vision of taking action to create a healthier world. It's a lovely telling that everyone - not just mothers-to-be - should read.

I read this book in just a few days. It prompted me to give myself a breast exam and low and behold I found a lump.
Turns out I had developed a cancerous tumor but caught it in the early stages. This book changed my life in sooo many ways

Well, written, for the most part

The book was well-written and interesting for the most part, but I think its conclusions misrepresent the contribution of Herceptin to the battle against breast cancer. Post-marketing studies have shown that Herceptin is not the wonder drug it was hoped to be. The book downplays the cardiac side-effects which are both more common and more serious than Bazell lets on. Nothing has changed in the battle against cancer. Despite the entry of this new weapon into the arsenal of oncologists, the quest to defeat cancer is still (to mix my metaphors) more like sticking boards in the sand to hold back the tide than building a sea wall.

Good to the Last Page

I had to read this book for my Biotechnology class and although I am close to failing it I found Her-2 to be pretty exciting book.
Her-2 by Bazell and King is about breast cancer, however, it reveals many other interesting things about the drug industry and how progress is made in the medical research field. There are different stories and view points and the authors have succesfully managed to combine all this into a book that both teaches and thrills us. I recommend this book to everyone who wants to learn more about breast cancer and about the insights of creating and bringing to the market a revolutionary drug - from selection of the trial patients to the President's office.

Wow, what a book!

I am a newly diagnosed young woman with breast cancer that over express her2/neu. I am considering taking Herceptin for an early stage cancer. I would not have this possible choice were it not for the wonderfuly minds and efforts of the people that created Herceptin. My thanks to Dr. Slamon and Dr. Ullrich! And really mostly, my thanks to the brave women who faced this horrible disease and enrolled in the trials. This book reads like a novel. I couldn't put it down and read it in 1 sitting. It's a thriller! If I had 1 small complaint it would be that it only very lightly touches on the possible side effect of heart damage especially when used in conjunction with Adriamycin, which weighs heavily on my mind. This is a great read for breast cancer patients and anyone who wants to read a great book.

I have read many books on the subject of diets and dieting and I have to say this book was by far the best. It is written in an informal and personal yet intelligent way. I believe there isn't a dieter/former dieter out there who couldn't relate to Linda's story and all the thoughts, feelings and emotions behind chronic dieting. If your tired of struggling with food and diets, or if you feel like you just don't know what to do next... then How to Survive Your Diet and Conquer Your Food Issues Forever is a great choice.

Nothing special here...

I don't know what exactly I was expecting from this book, but I didn't get it.

I certainly wasn't expecting a magic fix-it, but was hoping for something new. There is nothing new here.

The author's groundbreaking discoveries include:
-The reason people gain weight are from greed eating and stress eating.
-The way to lose weight and keep it off is to learn portion control.

Why this information was life-changing to some people, I'll never understand. The only reason I gave this book 2 stars instead of 1 is that she summarizes and compares many diet plans. So basically, others have done the work for her and she's just compiled it.

I'm happy Mrs. Moran found a way to lose and keep off her weight- a whopping 22 lbs.

Yes, her high weight was 142 at 5'2, and she is now 120. Good for her. Yes, 142 is a bit heavy for a woman of her stature, but I wonder how many women with serious weight problems will buy her book expecting to read about someone who actually had the kind of weight problem they do, only to be told in the last chapter that this is not true. Again, I am happy she is at a healthy weight, I just feel that this book had practically nothing to offer the targeted audience, or anyone else for that matter.

So Simple...Now Just Do It!

Linda Moran's suggested "self talk" is so simple and works when you do it (yes...this is the catch...you have to actually DO IT!).

Before eating, one of the things Moran suggests you ask yourself is "Am I hungry or am I eating out of "greed?" There are also other examples of self talk that deal with stress, guilt, etc.

Eating intuitively worked for me up until the holidays (Yes...I've been greedy!).

I do feel that mastering the self talk as prescribed by Moran can be a key to losing weight and keeping it off--I will attempt to refocus and see where her guidance takes me!

This is one of the most clear and concise presentations of intuitive eating I have come across so far. The author shares her experience and insights with regard to re-establishing a normal relationship with food. It's clear that she understands the whole dieting mindset/lifestyle that many of us have experienced, with multiple cyles of on-again, off-again, self-blame, looking for that magic pill, etc. In this book she offers a way to become free of obsession with food and actually just live a life.

On a dare, anyone can practice his Four-Fold Development/Four Square Living. Make your checker, sign your name inside and draw the words around it:
Stand Tall
Think Tall
Smile Tall
Live Tall
Or: Play, work, love and worship. Body, brain, heart, soul.

This I DARE YOU (MP3 CD) version will NOT PLAY ON A CD PLAYER. IT ONLY PLAYS on a computer.
I was a little disappointed since I purchased it to play in the car and on a portable cd player. It only plays on the computer disk player. I'll have to download it myself to an audio MP3 format. It must have been recorded as a DATA file. The narrator is a little momo-toned and I was very surprised that I zoned out on a self-help type CD. There are 14 chapters that run anywhere from 2 minutes 16 seconds to 26 minutes 14 seconds. Some are short, most are average 5-10 minutes.

The "I Dare You plan," first published in 1938 for the young and young at heart, is brightly authored by William H. Danforth, founder of the Purina Company. Written in scoutmaster style, this little gem will have you saluting to adventure. It is precise, simple, and uplifting.

"That is the first principle that I want thoroughly to fix in your mind--that life is a four-sided affair--that your daring program is going to lead you into physical adventures, mental adventures, social adventures, spiritual adventures. You have not one, but four lives to live--a four-fold opportunity to grow. A body, a brain, a heart, and a soul--these are our living tools. To use them is not a task. It is a golden opportunity. To find new capacities within you is not robbing you of any pleasure. It is bringing new treasures into every waking hour. It is helping you touch life at all angles, absorb strength from all contacts, pour out power on all fronts." Danforth adds "How dare you have within yourself these four-fold capacities and not use them?"

Like to be riveted into action? This book will do it. You will also feel rather selfish after the first reading (for witholding your dynamite). Go over it again several times. Mine is highlighted at every point (and there are many). I suggest you study I Dare You! along with the vintage movie "Fighting Father Dunne" (1948).

As one of the other reviewers noted, I too read this original book from my father's library when I was [...], in the 50s. Although almost forgotten, when I was writing articles on leadership, I realized this may have been the single most important book I had read...and used throughout life, becoming a leader in every...yes every...organization I belonged to, from high school Senior class President, college fraternity President, Band president(s), VP-Pres. elect of a national association, President of a state-wide organization, to Editor of a writers Quarterly and business owner. Now at 71, and looking back, "I Dare You" is quite possibly the only book necessary for directions in life. It's not about "success" or "money," it's about being your best and being the best FOR everyone around you.

Ballet-Fit
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2008-03-31
A word first about how I came to buy the book. I have been dancing about five years, Israeli folk, not ballet. Folk dancing is a great way to stay fit, but in my classes at least, there is little emphasis on low impact preparation: warm-up, flexibility and strengthening. Ballet, specifically work at the barre and "on the floor," is great for that.

I bought the book thinking I would exercise at home. The book can serve for that, but it is far more centered on getting you into class. The authors emphasize that, yes, to be a professional dancer you have to start young, but ballet has tangible benefits no matter what age you start. It is written to make you aware that there are a lot of schools that have adult classes and to get you over the threshold. It spends a good deal of time talking away all the reasons why you think you can't do this. It talks in a straightforward, no-nonsense way about what to expect: dress, shoes, typical class programs. Some schools hold more to ritual than others: it spends some time on class etiquette. And since ballet is "in French," it has a chapter on "language": the different positions - feet and hands - and movements, from stage one (plie, tendu), to more complex (battement tendu jete, rond de jambe), with careful guidance to how they are done.

The Joffrey is known for its professional program, but it also takes its adult beginners very seriously. As I mentioned, I did not buy the book expecting to take classes, but the Joffrey is walking distance from my home in New York, and one of the two authors, Dena Simone Moss, teaches adult elementary.

I would add my vote to my teacher's view, hers formed over long experience, that to get into ballet you really do need to be in class. The individual positions and movements, those in beginning class at least, are not physically difficult, but there are countless ways to head just a little off the rails. It needs a mature eye.

The Only Book of It's Kind

Most books on ballet are either dictionaries of terminology or else they are intended to be read by young children and teenagers. Ballet fit fills in a void in the literature for those of us who started dancing late, already have some kind of career, and do it for the sheer love of it. I wish there were more books for adult beginner dancers.

From barbells to Ballet slippers

Review Date: 2005-09-17
Ballet is one of the best workouts a person can get. It promotes good posture, flexibility, coordination, strength, grace, and balance at the same time bringing out one of the most artful forms of expression through dance. There is a recent trend of people wanting less grinding forms of fitness such as weight lifting and aerobics. This has caused a serge in popularity in workouts such as Pilates and Yoga in adults. This has also brought interest in means of working out that are both beneficial to your health and fun to do; thus the rising popularity of adult ballet classes.

A few years ago adult ballet classes were very rare. It was considered inane because there really was no hope in becoming professional when starting as an adult. However, there is a new movement of adults whose goal is not to become the professional ballet dancers but turning to it for the sheer fitness benefits. This book is perfect for the types of people just mentioned. There is a certain amount of anxiety and hesitation, however, when entering the world of ballet for the first time as an adult. Ballet is very structured and detailed and this can be a huge turn-off for someone who's not acquainted to this. This book takes all of that anxiety out for you. It tells you everything you need to know so you are completely prepared for your first class. It goes over how to buy your fist pair of ballet slippers; how to get the correct size and fit. It tells you the proper attire. It goes over all the basic foot and arm positions, correct form, and all the terminology. It also has wonderful pictures so you can see just what the positions are supposed to look like. It tells you what to expect the structure of the class to be like.

Now, I actually took ballet for several years when I was younger, but quit my sophomore year of high school. I'm now 26 years old and have had a child, so I was a bit apprehensive to even think about going back into ballet. This book was a great refresher and gave me the courage to get back on my toes again.

Disappointment

Review Date: 2005-11-27
The book was somewhat of a disappointment due to the fact that I had already started ballet when I bought it. I had also already found out a lot of useful information on the internet. The target group of the book is adults THINKING of starting talking up ballet. The "Ballet fit" at the end was mostly a brief summary of what excercised that can be expected from a ballet class. Many of the movements are difficult to understand since there weren't enough amount of illustrating pictures. The pictures that are there are surely beautiful, but unfortunately, they have mostly used a pre-pro student in the center of focus and NOT real adult beginners (they are placed at the back). Which really doesn't give you any indication of how far an adult beginner can reach.
If you are going to buy the book, do it for the right reason: As a motivation for starting classes and NOT a technical instruction book or ballet work-out book!

Wow!

This book was amazing! I read the entire book before deciding to take an adult ballet class and this book was dead on. It helped clarify everything from what to wear, to how the class would be formatted. I felt so at ease when I walked into my first class and saw the age range of the students - there were young 20-somethings all the way to a lady in her 50's - and there was even a guy in our class! The workout section towards the end of the book is great. You can do one or all of the exercises on your days out of class. And some of them will really get you stretching. I've noticed that there aren't many, if any, floor exercises during class - such as crunches. Most of the class time is spent doing barre work and some center work at the end. These workouts provide an excellent warm up before class. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is interested in getting into (or back into) ballet. It will clarify any questions you could possibly have and leave you feeling like you can do this when you're finished reading it!

I just received this yesterday and have read it pretty much from cover to cover. This is a wonderful tool for people who are committed to their workouts and really want to see results. The photos, explanations, etc. are excellent. It is laid out in a very systematic and organized way. I love how she includes both easier and harder options for each exercise and stretch and how she integrates stretching throughout the workout rather than just at the end. I've been teaching fitness classes for years and thought I would breeze through the workout I did this morning, but I found it challenging. I'm looking forward to seeing changes in my body. I like having a guide to go by in choosing what exercises and stretches to do each time. This book is a great find!

I was looking for a book that would help me strengthen and tone my muscles. Help me get a routine going that I can stick with. As I've gotten older I have lost a lot of muscle mass and I feel it's important to gain most of that back. Now that I'm alone I need to be able to take care of myself and do for myself. I believe this book will do the trick. It has helped Montel Williams out as this woman is his personal trainer.

This book is easy to understand with quick simple workouts that really get your body working out. I never thought I could get my heart rate up with such simple work outs but I really did on this one! I often worry that I'll hurt myself doing exercises the wrong way but she's good at pointing out what to watch for to make sure you're doing it right. The exercises are short and easy to do before work or while dinner's in the oven. And I can adjust the number of reps I do to make sure I have that sore great work out feeling the next morning! Hope you all enjoy it!

I purchased this book for the purpose of getting back into shape after having baby #2. I was very active during both my pregnancies, so just needed something to 'tweak' myself back into pre-pregnancy form. This book absolutely served that purpose. For someone with limited time and resources (I don't have time to go to the gym, but have a few essential items at home), it's perfect. After a consistent training with this book, coupled with cardio, I lost my last 5 pounds in just a few short weeks. And my muscle definition is back! However, if you're looking for something more 'challenging' or if you have significant weight to lose, I suggest you hire a trainer.

This book provides great resources to live a better lifestyle. I love the way Jeremy documents his accomplishments and failures. He proves that one should not give up on their dreams but rather set goals so they can achieve their dreams.

Jeremy's book is separated into three parts: Mind set, Nutrition, Exercise. The mind set is a motivational section that describes what tools a person needs to achieve their goals. This was my favorite section of the entire book!

The next section is the Nutrition section. In this section Jeremy talks about what foods to consider eating. This section does not contain a diet plan rather Jeremy attempts to educate the readers about the properties of the different food groups. This section contains great information and gives the reader an idea of what foods are made of thus allowing the reader to decide for themselves what foods are good and what foods are bad.

The final section of this book talks about exercise. Jeremy describes some exercises and explains some different ways to do them. This is a great section if you are not familiar with weight lifting. Some of the exercises Jeremy describes are the Squat, Dead Lift, and Bench Press.

This really is an amazing book. I don't contain the words to do this book any justice. BUY THIS BOOK!

I've read a lot of these type of books. A lot of similarities and a lot of contradictions between books. This books is the most comprehensive one I've read. I've reread it several times and get something new out of it each time.

It has been said that the way to make money quickly in the book industry is self-help or weight loss fitness books. This book does not really fall into that category. It is written with a passion for a subject and based on personal experience and transformation. There are a number of factors that make this an exceptional book, and even more so an extraordinary fitness book. First is the way it is written - each chapter is written in two parts. It begins with the meat of the matter, the teaching about, health, fitness, wellness ... the second part of each chapter is the personal narrative of Jeremy's journey from being unhealthy to healthy. Mr. Likeness gives numerous examples from his own fitness journey and some from those he has helped to move along that path. In the same way that Sylvester Stallone did in his book Sly Moves : My Proven Program to Lose Weight, Build Strength, Gain Will Power, and Live your Dream.

This book is in part written around the philosophy from the book Body for Life: 12 Weeks to Mental and Physical Strength by Bill Phillips, yet it goes into much greater depth on some of the non-physical factors of health and weight loss or weight management. It deals with issues of stress, family life and work factors that can either help or hinder the physical transformation a person desires to make. This book has a very holistic approach to health and fitness. It presents the argument that in order to make lasting changes in your life, those changes must begin from the inside; transformation starts in the heart and in the mind and then works out in the body. Jeremy states: "Physique transformation is about more than simply losing weight. You will find that your life changes in many ways, too. You adjust to new clothing, a new image in the mirror, even a new sense of energy that allows you to achieve more during the day. Spiritually and mentally, you may change as well. Although these changes are almost always positive, change itself can be something that we fear. For this reason, it is important to understand what changes to expect to better prepare yourself as the process unfolds." Once the physical changes start to become more evident, you will have both positive and negative comments from people in your life. Likeness helps to provide some tools for dealing with both types. An example he gives is that if you have been over weight for a long time, you might not be accustomed to compliments - you will have to learn how to receive them and take some of them to heart.

This book, as the techniques in it are applied, can be a great tool for helping a person achieve greater health and wellbeing. This can be a factor in a longer and happier life. If these goals are things you have been thinking about, or have started working on, pick up this book to help boost your resolve and efforts to make your lifestyle changes.

Love from Both Sides: A True Story of Soul Survival and Sacred Sexuality I love Amazon, because the computer keeps asking me to review my own book. I'll let other readers do that, but because today marks what would have been the wedding anniversary to "the love of my life," a love that almost killed me, by the way, I thought I'd say a few words. Especially appropriate now, when everyone seems so filled with fear. Maybe because they've lost their jobs, or their retirement, or their savings. I know what that feels like, because when my husband died, he left me in $180,000 of debt, with no savings, no retirement, no stocks, bonds or insurance. I didn't have a real job, or any way of making a living. At the time, I thought for sure I would wind up a homeless woman, wandering the streets. Mercifully, that didn't happen. And it didn't happen because I forced myself to stay focused in "the moment," and I refused to "buy-in" to all the fear-mongers around me. My book tells the story of that first year, when I didn't know what to do, or where to turn. Sure it's about a dead husband coming back and "chatting," and explaining the In Between, and even having sex with his wacked-out widow. But now when I look at the book, I see it with different eyes. It's really about the transformational journey that I was forced to take. I was forced to find out what I was made of, to face my deepest fears, and do it anyway. To persevere, and finally overcome what I thought would kill me. It's a journey that many people are being forced to make right now, whether they want to or not. And for that reason, if you're reading these reviews because you've just lost your husband, a friend, a loved one, or your source of security and survival, my book might help you focus on being present in "the now," and going forward. If I could do it, so can you. Just know that you always have a choice as to what you're choosing to think, and if you force your own thoughts into paths that serve you, you, too, will make it through. I'm now 61, I'm healthy and happy. I'm a working hynotherapist and I love what I do. I'm surrounded by people who love and appreciate me, and girls? I'm having the best sex of my life! So, yeah for keeping your body fit! (And bravo to the old friend who makes it possible!) Good luck on your own transformational journey

What a wonderful book! It is about Stephanie's unexpected loss of the husband she loved so dearly, but from a much different perspective. As Dan "returns" in spirit from the "in between," he helps her to write this book as well as learn to deal with her intense grief! I am only halfway through the book right now and will be back with a more in-depth review when I finish, but I wanted everyone to know that for those who are willing to open up to believe, this book could be very useful to those who have lost someone special. Dan also provides some insight of life on the other side which may help some of those who fear death. Many of the things Dan says about the other side are things I already believed. I have absolutely no problem believing Stephanie's experiences in this book.

i was drawn to stephanie from across the room at a seminar on past lives. we met only very briefly, and i decided to buy her book. her channeling experience is quite unique, yet i do believe it happened as she says. i wonder, when sometimes her spirit guides tell her what she "should've done," whether her channeling was pure or if it was sometimes mixed with some of her own personal thoughts, since it is my belief that telling someone what they "should've done" is tantamount to making the person wrong in the past. my own experience with channeling, however, is minimal, so who am i to judge spirit guides, since i haven't spoken to mine? however, one thing the book did for me was make the possibility more real that i could hear from my spirit guides. her spirit guides also told her that her dyslexia was actually a symptom of a super flexible brain, and is what allowed her to channel so easily. i think dyslexia and other "disorders" are not disorders at all, and that actually made a lot of sense to me. [though i myself am not dyslexic.]
i got a lot out of the book. one example would be the insight that "everyone else cares about themselves, and that's the way it should be." simple, and maybe those of us who like to think we are caring people don't want to hear it, but upon reflection it makes perfect sense to me. "only focus your energy where it is reciprocated" is another good one. common sense, but still, a nice reminder. i actually took notes while reading this book, as there was a lot of solid and practical advice in it.
i would have been happier if it were 30 pages shorter, and/or abridged in places, as it got repetitive toward the end. however, the author was very honest with her story, making little effort to make sure she "looked good for the reader"--although it does seem like she's a really nice person--in favor of just telling the straight story, and i respect that. i found this book much more practical than some other famous channeled books, like the fascinating but abstruse "seth books." nice work, stephanie!

Here's a game Valley Girl who drove a cab on the streets of Manhattan and found the one guy late in life. Theirs was such an extraordinary bond that death could not break it. She makes this unreal tale real, and opens doors.
Don't be afraid to enter.

I loved this book! It was very different from what I had expected. It's the true story of a widow who's lost her husband and then the husband "comes back" and chats from the "In-Between". (and yes, he even wants to have sex!). Even for those of us with a bit of scepticism about psychic phenomenon, this book is mostly about a "fated" marriage. Not only what the real marriage was, but what it might have been. And those are sad words: "What might have been". What you will find here is a newly dead person with a sense of honest regret (and also a sense of humor) who attempts to apologize for bad behavior in husbands. It might give people perspective on their own relationships and marriages, while they still have a chance to make changes. Don't let the title or subject of this book scare you away. This book is touching and provocative and Ms. Riseley is a wonderful storyteller!

This is an important book for anyone who has or suspects they have Lyme's Disease. Easy to understand and full of information. It has a very helpful section on vitamins and foods that are helpful in conquering Lyme's Disease. It has a medical basis and a holistic approach. This makes sense to me.

I have been an RN for 35 years and haven't felt really well for the past 20 years. I sought the advice of a multitude of physicians and specialists only to finally somehow be lead to an integrative physician, who happens to be a LLMD, who took the time to read my history, look at past test results and listen to the many strange and everchanging multi-system problems I have had. He then ordered proper testing. I have late stage Lyme Disease.

As an RN I know only too well the closed mindedness of the mainstream medical profession. I was labeled a "difficult" patient because I questioned and chose to disagree with the assessment that my illness was emotionally based.

This book reinforces my decision to use mostly alternative methods on the recommendation of my LLMD and also reinforces the fact that antibiotics are usually necessary.
The anti inflammatory diet does really help to lessen the pain this disease can cause. When you follow it and feel much better the "sacrifice" of giving up sugars, sweets, caffeine, etc is really worth the effort.

The book doesn't read like a death sentence and made me feel that I have some control over how this disease progresses.

The Lyme Disease Solution Singleton has an ability to breakdown complex pieces of information into understandable parts, bringing together his experience as a lyme patient with medical and wholistic understandings. He includes the reactions to be expected with particular courses of antibiotic treatment, supplements to support healing, and a four stage diet plan. Helpful for both lyme patients and their caregivers.

Very good general book for someone just beginning to learn about lyme. Easy to read and has much good information that most doctor's are not even aware of.

If I were to recommend a single book with all of the informtion one would need to know about Lyme disease and related co-infections, this would be it. It is hands down the most concise yet comprehensive reference out there for lyme patients today. Dr. Singleton's book is beautifully written, informative, and infused with such a positive and caring tone, that my family and I find reading it to be as emotionally uplifting as it is medically therapeutic in its treatment suggestions. I am especially impressed by his willingness to utilize the best of both traditional and integrative medicine, always offered in combination with plenty of practical common sense. In addition, Dr. Singleton addresses other, more commonly overlooked aspects of this illness, including the emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs of a patient suffering from what can be a very debilitating disease. Every practicing physician treating lyme disease today could also benefit greatly from this book.
